Here is how we recommend you get up safely after feeding your baby: If you're reclined, roll a bit to one side and, if possible, use one arm to help push yourself into a more upright position as you exhale and engage your core. Once you're seated upright, scoot yourself forward in the chair so that you can sit on the edge with your knees bent at 90 degrees and your feet firmly planted. Then exhale and draw your belly to the spine as you use your legs to stand up.
